What media are saying about us, and what they're looking for from us

Industry Update

With 2017 in the rear view mirror we have the pedal-to-the-metal and sprinting into the 2018 tourism season.

Our region is experiencing strong growth in the awareness that travel writers, publications and various social media platforms show in our region. Clearly this is in part from the increased marketing initiatives implemented by Destination BC and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture. That said, this growth of awareness is also from extra ordinary efforts from you our stakeholders and our team here at the CCCTA – Kudos to all!

More and more outlets are looking for editorial and visual content for us to share with them. Please send us links to any new material that you have produced so we can share on your behalf. Short video clips are relatively easy to produce and in demand. New pictures and website updates are also key tools for us to leverage for you.

In partnership with Destination Canada and Destination BC we will be representing you all at the Canada Media Marketplace April 6-11. At this event we will be in formal meetings with about 50 top flight US based media outlets. We have access to another 100 or so at the various socials throughout the event.

This is the best opportunity we have to represent you in person for the 2018/19 season. Planning is well underway for who we will be targeting / educating them on what this region and you the stakeholders offer to the their readers and followers
If we don’t know you have new products and materials it is not as efficient for us to pitch your products efficiently.

“Winter Moments” – Social Media boost

This winter has been busy with a some regular visits from social media influencers who are lending their expertise and influence to help spread the word about our region. Sometimes the best messages are brief, and speak more to the experiences you can have in our region and let the images do the talking for us. Chris Wheeler Media is doing exactly that with some snippets of winter moments here in Cariboo Chilcotin Coast region. See the new “Winter Moments” playlist here, and share, share share!
