Accessibility Assessment Invitation

Invitation to Participate in Accessibility Assessment

The Accessibility and Inclusion Team of the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast Tourism would like to extend an invitation for operators to participate in on-site accessibility assessments.

Purpose and Benefits of the Assessments

Part of our ongoing work involves offering on-site accessibility assessments for your business. These assessments aim to identify what you already have in place and suggest simple solutions and potential resources to enhance your operation’s accessibility and inclusion attributes. As we identify common needs, it also helps us build programs and apply for funding to support our operators in upgrading and becoming more inclusive to all.

Supporting Global Sustainablility Goals

Accessibility and Inclusion in our businesses also aligns with several of the United Nations’ Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs) and can contribute as evidence for Biosphere Certification. Goals specific to accessibility and inclusion include:

· SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being.

· SDG 4: Quality Education

· SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth

· SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure

· SDG 10: Reducing Inequalities

· SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities.

What to Expect During the On-Site Assessment

The free on-site assessment typically takes an hour. We kindly request that the owner, operator, or manager join us during our visit and assessment of the destination. If an on-site assessment is not feasible, other arrangements may be made. If your business is an accommodation, activity, or experience, with your permission, the information from the assessment will be shared with Destination BC to add to the accessibility information on the Hello BC website.
