The Cariboo Chilcotin Coast Tourism Association hosted the annual 2025 Tourism Summit & AGM from October 17-19 in Quesnel, British Columbia. This year we are honoured the memorable past that brought us to where we are today while embracing the exciting future ahead with the many advances in the industry!
We welcomed delegates from across the region and all areas of BC tourism to come together, network, gain knowledge and support the Tourism Industry and Economy. The event was designed to educate, provide network opportunities, influence new ideas, and recognize our amazing industry leaders here in the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast.

Walt Judas & Cassandra Zereneski ~ Industry Advocacy TIABC Presentation
Walt and Cassandra will discuss the most pressing issues facing BC’s visitor economy this year and how TIABC is working with tourism industry stakeholders and all levels of government to find solutions and leverage opportunities. They’ll address concerns around land use planning and tenure security, aging infrastructure, lack of funding for marketing and tourism
emergency management, BC’s tenuous investment climate, outdated agri-tourism regulations, and more. Walt and Cassandra will also be looking to engage Summit delegates in a conversation about advocacy priorities for tourism operators in the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast region.

Alison will present on Destination British Columbia’s new Iconics for our region, Nature’s Heartland and The Infinite Coast.

Tourism’s Future Award
The Tourism Futures Award recognizes a person or business new to the industry with no more than five (5) years in business. We are seeking someone who has developed or purchased a tourism business in the region, is engaged in the industry and tourism community, shown bravery, innovation or leadership and is willing to responsibly push boundaries.
Winner: The Pillon Family at Kayanara
Generational Award
The Generational Award recognizes individuals or groups within the industry who have made significant contributions to the advancement and development of tourism in the region. These recipients demonstrate a multi-generational commitment, with two or more generations actively involved or owning businesses within the regional tourism sector. They have effectively collaborated, maintained a presence, and have the goal to pass the business to future generations.

Good Neighbour Award
The Good Neighbor Award recognizes a person, business or organization who drives positive collaboration, promotes being a better neighbor through action and is positively engaged in their local community/area. Seeking those who go above and beyond to positively impact responsible tourism development in the local community or the broader tourism industry.
Winner: Bella Coola Helisport
Innovation in Tourism
Innovation in Tourism recognizes a person, business or organization who introduced an innovative new tourism business concept or experience to the tourism industry within the past five (5) years that achieved success for the innovator and supports the broader tourism industry. Nominations may include business, sustainability, technology or other innovations that advance the regional tourism industry.
Winner: Moose Island Foods
President’s Award
The President’s Award recognizes an individual whose cumulative efforts have enhanced the awareness and quality of tourism experiences in the region and provided significant support to the responsible development of the tourism industry.
