The team continues to work hard on your behalf and have some winter projects underway to gather new imagery, video and stories – please give them a wave if you see them in the field.   Catalyst Accord 2022 Cariboo Chilcotin Coast Tourism Association has become a signatory to the Catalyst Accord, an initiative that encourages corporate Canada to increase representation of women on boards of directors and in executive positions, Cariboo Chilcotin Coast Tourism Association is setting the pace of change for business leadership in Canada. By pledging to accelerate or maintain (where already strong) the representation of women on its Board of Directors and in executive positions, Cariboo Chilcotin Coast Tourism Association is making its commitment to diversity and inclusion visible to employees, customers, and shareholders. By publicly committing to diversity in the boardroom and in executive positions, Cariboo Chilcotin Coast Tourism Association serves as a role model, demonstrating that leadership and accountability start at the top and sending a powerful message that diversity is good for business and an important element of good corporate governance.   Destination Development We are pleased to share that the destination development program is gearing up again! Watch for details coming very soon as we hit the Gold Rush Trail in February with the final 10-year strategy and begin action planning.

The Regional DDS will also be shared in February – and we are looking for your support to share priorities with local officials and partners. Spring will see action planning commence in the Chilcotin Central Coast and completion of the Interlakes area/Hwy 24 strategy with action planning to follow. With a remarkable program, comes remarkable growth.     Rural Dividend A big thanks to the Ministry of Forests Lands Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development for their continued investment in tourism through the Rural Dividend Program. CCCTA has received $10,000 for a labour feasibility project to assist businesses in recruitment of the skilled labour required by our sector! And is pleased to be supported under the special circumstances provision of Rural Dividend with a $100,000 investment in destination development project implementation. Congratulations to all our community and non-profit partners who also received funding for projects.   Making Waves It has come to our attention that some operators and partners in the region have received invoices or correspondence from a group calling themselves the “Chilcotin National Congress”. It appears that these activities may not be legitimate. If your business receives an invoice or direction from this group, or any other that you are unsure of, please advise the RCMP immediately and email advocacy@landwithoutlimits.com.
