ACTION REQUIRED!

Their first question to you is regarding the value and format of the regional Travel Guide. The Cariboo Chilcotin Coast has been promoting the region through our Travel Guide for many years. The Travel Guide is a magazine like guide full of information and advertisements but it can be costly to create and print.

  • Do you feel that our region should continue to create yearly travel guides?
  • If so, would you like to see a new, more modern layout?
  • Do you feel it is distributed most effectively?
  • Where are some places you think it should be distributed?
  • If you do not feel we should continue to publish a travel guide, what should we replace the guide with, if anything?

We want to hear what you think. Send your comments to your local representative, via the Placespeak discussion board or by email marketing@landwithoutlimits.com.

Emergency Resources for BC’s Tourism Industry

During times of stress and uncertainty, it’s important to share official information (see a list of official resources), and to be proactive in correspondence with your guests. While some areas of the province are impacted by wildfires, many parts of the province are unaffected and want to avoid unnecessary cancellations from misinformation. If you are unaffected, help your travellers and join other tourism partners by sharing real-time visual testimonials of clear skies and conditions, letting customers know you are open for business. Use the hashtag #RealTime____ (followed by your location), and #ccclives, #goldrushtrail or #exploreBC. Tag your local destination management organization and share their messages, too. Destination BC can then assist by amplifying these images and videos through our channels. Social media can be a powerful tool to combat misinformation or sensationalized headlines.

Remarkable Experiences Program

Don’t miss out on registration for this fall’s Remarkable Experiences Program, hosted by Destination BC and Cariboo Chilcotin Coast Tourism Association. The program provides tourism businesses with key consumer insights, product innovation advice, best practices, and tools for digital and social media marketing, among other crucial information. Participants benefit from four days of in-class learning coupled with 1.5 hours of private coaching, as well as a digital assessment of business websites and social channels. The program costs $450, and seating is limited. For those impacted by the 2017 wildfires funding to register and attend this training may be available. Register now.
